Developing Requirements / Use Cases

Documenting requirements is critical to ensuring that your DAM solution provides what you need.  Documenting these requirements provides a head-start when working with vendors and comparing products. HartTalbot has a comprehensive list of requirements that can be tailored to fit your deployment. 

Requirements can be divided into functional, technical, business, and operations categories.

Functional:

• Can I download more than one asset at a time?
• Does the solution offer versioning? How is this done?
• I have users in multiple regions. Can we ensure that users from Region 1 can’t download assets from Region 2?

Technical:

• Does your solution fit our corporate technical direction? (for example, cloud computing, SaaS, other?)
• Which browsers / versions are compatible with your product?
• Can you integrate with our identity management system?

Business:

• How is pricing determined? By user?  Type of user?
• How much storage included in the base price?
• Are there additional charges for training?

Operations:

• Can I customize the user interface with our branding?
• How do I add users?
